The military has a long history of being able to feed their troops while out in the field. The food comes in durable packages that are freeze dried or vacuum-packed. This food can last for years.
It used to be that these meals were pretty bad and just kept you alive. But now they have improved in taste and can be taken on camping trips or stored for emergencies.

With all the increased natural and manmade disasters a person would be wise to prepare for long periods of time without the ability to buy from any stores.

It could happen at any time. The sun could send out a solar flare that would wipe out your electricity for months or a storm snap power poles in your area leaving you without the ability to even to buy or sell.
Survival food is a large part of being prepared. Here are many types to choose from military to other companies that have prepared great tasting meals ready to eat at any time.

MRE's come from both the military and privates stores. Emergency kits can keep you and your family going for several days. It would be wise to have stocked supplies to last you for both short and long term events.

If you are on the West Coast or near Tennessee you need to be prepared for a major earthquake. Keep supplies handy that will last you for a month. Unless the disaster is countrywide you should see help coming in by then depending on the size of the event

In this photo above the dessert is a brownie with chocolate chips. Not bad at all. These meals are becoming tastier all the time. It used to be that you ate to live, now you can enjoy living too.

Notice that this MRE is eaten even thought the solider is at a base where he could get a regular lunch but these brownies are pretty good and why leave them for later?

This photo above shows MRE's that are vegetarian. It has been proven that you do have more endurance and better health being a vegetarian. Vegetarian meals are easy to get and should keep better than meat ones.
However it is easy to be a junk food vegetarian so keep away from chips, candy, pop and white flour. These will zap your endurance and set you up for disease.

When you come across a good sale grab it fast. You never know when you will need these supplies because the next disaster could come at any time.

Also be prepared for loss of water. If you are lucky you will have a handy creek so that you can have water for washing and flushing your toilet. Water for drinking should be boiled first to prevent illness.

If you don't have a handy water supply a shallow well could be dug on your property or containers of water stored. Distilled water keeps the longest and isn't very expensive. It may not taste as good but will keep you alive

I am writing to you in behalf of your Heavenly Father. He is seeking you like a lost sheep. You remember the Bible story? It is about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. But when he brings the sheep home one night, one is missing. He then leaves the 99 sheep and goes out into the wilderness until he finds that lost sheep.
