Plastic Canvas is a fun craft where you thread yarn through holes in a structure becoming a beautiful design. Your design can be churches, butterflies or anything you can imagine. The finished product can be in 3D and be stood up and look like a toy on a shelf. On this page you will find many free patterns to choose from besides books and patterns for sale.

A Tall Tale - (most of it is really true) One day my friends and I were attending a craft party and we were all having fun enjoying the different displays and deciding on which ones to buy. Suddenly our attention was grabbed as the floor began to shake. Standing up I stood under a braced area between the living room and kitchen. My friends joined me there.

The sharking got harder and more terrifying and I remember seeing the aquarium water almost sloshing out of the tank. The water had gotten low in the tank or else it probably would have spilled onto the floor. The lights went out and we could see out of the window to the town below. There were bright green explosions from the transformers all over town. We all were numb with shock and some of us were praying.

The shaking seemed to last forever but finally stopped. Everything was quiet except for the wailing of car alarms from the town below. Quickly we stepped outside to find a safer place than the house. The whole town was dark and with the eerie cries of the wailing alarms the feeling was scary and unreal.

As we mingled around many quickly left but after checking my home next door I returned to help with clean up. The lights came back on and we started straightening things and putting stuff away. Everything was cleaned up when suddenly the floor began to shake again. It was a repeat of the first and we were just as scared as before. Again the lights went out and the wailing began. We quickly headed outdoors to be safe.

This time we decided to stay outdoors and set up tents for ourselves to sleep in. We just could not trust that our homes were the safe place to be after two earthquakes had rattled them and us so much. After a restless night of not getting much sleep we woke to a bright and sunny day. The power was on and everything seemed to be in order. Later we found out that both earthquakes were rated a 6 point and a couple days later we experienced a 5 point after shock. There were many smaller aftershocks and to this day I always think of earthquake whenever I feel the ground under me move in any way.

On this page there are free patterns and more. This craft first starts with a plastic frame where you thread yarn through the holes provided. You can choose the colors and make a beautiful finished product that would add beauty to your home or this could even be the beginning to a small business. The project can be flat like this photo or be a 3D craft that could be a Kleenex box or a little house.

This photo shows what some pink and red yarn can do on a piece of plastic. This bear was made for Valentines Day and would brighten up anyones day. The little heart on the bear will show your love to whoever you give it to. Find similar ones to this on this page.

Dear Plastic Canvas Pattern Enthusiasts,

I am writing to you in behalf of your Heavenly Father. He is seeking you like a lost sheep. You remember the Bible story? It is about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. But when he brings the sheep home one night, one is missing. He then leaves the 99 sheep and goes out into the wilderness until he finds that lost sheep.

In this parable the shepherd goes out to search for the one lost sheep-the very least that can be numbered. So if there had been but one lost soul, Christ would have died for that one. To read more click Lost Sheep
