Guinness World Records (All Years) | Guinness World Records reports the best human achievements and extremes in the natural world. It could be
sports, eating contest or the largest Pizza or mountain in the world. The contests and records have to be verified by Guinness.
Some of the records found in the Guinness World Records range from weightlifting to egg tossing. Eating, beer and alcohol contests have been eliminated because of safety and health concerns. The Guinness World Records is the worlds highest sold copyrighted book and the most stolen library book. It also has high television ratings whenever the show is aired. Some museums in different cities also feature The Guinness World Records and are quite popular. |
The idea for the Guinness World Records was born May 4, 1951 when Sir Hugh Beaver the manager of the Guinness Breweries, argued with a friend on which was the fastest game bird in Europe. The argument couldn't be settled since there were no records kept. Beaver realized that a book was needed to settle arguments and curiosity about records. After commissioning two brothers to compile the records the first edition was published August 1954. The book becomes the top British bestseller by Christmas and the next year 70,000 copies were sold in the United States. In India the people enjoy setting and breaking records and made their own record book called the Limca Book of Records.

Dear World Records Fans,I am writing to you in behalf of your Heavenly Father. He is seeking you like a lost sheep. You remember the Bible story? It is about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. But when he brings the sheep home one night, one is missing. He then leaves the 99 sheep and goes out into the wilderness until he finds that lost sheep.
In this parable the shepherd goes out to search for the one lost sheep-the very least that can be numbered. So if there had been but one lost soul, Christ would have died for that one. To read more click Lost Sheep
