American Greetings produced the Care Bears to use on greeting cards. Artist Etena Kucharik did the original artwork for the cards. In 1983 the Care Bears became a successful line of Teddy Bears. The Care Bears come in different colors and specialized insignia on the belly. Bedtime Bear is pastel blue and has a sleepily crescent moon on its belly. Cheer Bear is pink with a pretty rainbow on its tummy. The Care Bear Cousins are stuffed monkeys, lions made in the similar fashion of the Care Bears. The Care Bears also have their own television show which aired from 1985 - 1988 plus three movies. The Care Bears Movie (1985), Care Bears Movie II:

A New Generation (1986) and The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland (1987).

Now the challenge is to continue to make Care Bears new and interesting. The Bears come with tummies that light up when pressed, Environmental Care Bears and more. In 2009 American Greetings released Care Bears with belly badges and they take on emergencies. A New movie is coming out called "Share Bear Shines."

Dear Care Bears Fans,

I am writing to you in behalf of your Heavenly Father. He is seeking you like a lost sheep. You remember the Bible story? It is about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. But when he brings the sheep home one night, one is missing. He then leaves the 99 sheep and goes out into the wilderness until he finds that lost sheep.

In this parable the shepherd goes out to search for the one lost sheep-the very least that can be numbered. So if there had been but one lost soul, Christ would have died for that one. To read more click Lost Sheep?
