Here are a few antique oil can's from my collection. I really didn't intend to collect old oil cans but as we began cleaning out some of the old buildings located on our property they just began to add up.

I was overjoyed each time I came across a vintage oil can and when I grouped them all together they made an attractive, colorful display.

Whenever visitors come to our shop they enjoy seeing all our retro oil cans. There are many varieties of old oil cans for sale.

Some examples are: Plewes oil cans, Justrite oil cans, collectible Texaco oil cans, Wolfs head motor oil cans, Valvoline oil cans, Mobil oil and rare vintage oil cans, old oil cans, oil cans for sale, small oil cans and antique oil cans.

I am not sure but when submitting your project house for a contest the whole thing needs to be eatable. You have to check the rules but I think this is how it is done.

Another way to insure your project looks nice is using a kit. There are kits to choose from so that will ensure the finished product will look nice.

Molds are another way to ensure quality. There are molds on this page that will give you the best start.

Metal Antique Oil Cans

Oil cans come in a variety of sizes, shapes and designs.

An oil can is a can that holds oil (usually motor oil) for lubricating machines. An oil can also be used to fill oil-based lanterns.

Oil cans were made by companies like Noera Manufacturing Company and Perfection in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Around this time, oil cans frequently leaked and contributed to fires. In 1957, aluminum oil cans were introduced, produced by companies like the American Can Company.

This large Pennzoil motor oil can (pictured above) is a favorite in my collection.{ 4 quarts}.

Spring Bottom Vintage Oil Cans

Pictured are a group of spring bottom oil cans. You just push on the bottom and the oil would squirt out. Some of the metal oil cans have flexable spouts. These small vintage motor oil cans are very collectible and look attractive together.

Dear Antique Oil Can Collectors,

I am writing to you in behalf of your Heavenly Father. He is seeking you like a lost sheep. You remember the Bible story? It is about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. But when he brings the sheep home one night, one is missing. He then leaves the 99 sheep and goes out into the wilderness until he finds that lost sheep.

In this parable the shepherd goes out to search for the one lost sheep-the very least that can be numbered. So if there had been but one lost soul, Christ would have died for that one. To read more click Lost Sheep
